“If I go back, I’ll spend the rest of my life in that factory… I don’t want to do that.”

With that thought in mind, Henry Robert, Sr. walked out of the watch factory where he worked at the Christmas holiday in 1911 – he never did go back.

In the new year, Mr. Robert purchased a local grocery and opened Robert’s Fish Company, even though at the time he admittedly said “I didn’t know a carp from a catfish”. Thirty four years later he welcomed his sons, Henry Jr. and Dean, into the growing business, and in 1974, Dean Robert, Jr. (our current president) joined the family firm.

Three generations and more than ninety years later, Robert’s Seafood Market retains the reputation of quality for which we have always been associated. In a day when chain supermarket owners never set foot in their business, we are proud to be a part of a family tradition which has grown with the care of the people who work here and our genuine respect for you and your family.

The Robert family is very honored that we’ve been able to meet or exceed our customers’ seafood expectations for over 90 years. We take pride in knowing that we provide only the highest quality seafood to each of our customers. The quality starts with the vendors and fisheries we deal with – each business must meet our quality standards and practice in a completely ethical and environmentally friendly manner.

ALL of our product is inspected when it arrives at Robert’s and also when it leaves heading for your doorstep. We ship and store all of our seafood at the correct temperature to ensure the highest quality is maintained.
